Lewis E. Enderle, 88, of Huron, died Friday, March 30, 2007, in his home, after a long illness.
He was born May 7, 1918, in Bellevue, and moved to Huron when he was 5 years old. He was a lifelong area farmer and a Huron Township trustee for 31 years. He was a member of the Milan Friends Church, Erie County Farm Bureau, Huron Grange, the Gideons, and charter member of Firelands Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed baseball, softball and hunting. He served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Sartor); three daughters, Lu Ann Enderle of Avon Lake, Fay (Terry) Felske of Huron, and Denise (Chuck) Branum of Huron; three sons, Scott (Lisa) Enderle of Huron, Todd (Lori) Enderle of Milan and Edward (Tracy) Enderle of Huron; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Alice (Chuck) Shafer of Mansfield and Eleanor Flesher of Milan; and a brother, William (Marilyn) Enderle of Huron.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis E. and Cecelia (Zimmerman) Enderle; and two brothers, Wayne and Charles Enderle.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky, where services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, with The Rev. Stephen McLaughlin, pastor of Milan Friends Church, officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Huron Avery Road, Huron. Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron, is handling the arrangements.
