Mary R. (Fresch) Bacni, 84, of Sandusky, passed away late Friday afternoon, March 30, 2007, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Sandusky, was a 1939 graduate of Sandusky High School, and a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was a great sister and loved her family and grandchildren very much. Mrs. Bacni was known for her Italian cooking. She enjoyed bingo, but loved watching or listening to the Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Allen) Rider of Plant City, Fla.; three sons, Richard (Karen) Bacni, Gary Bacni, and Steve (Michelle) Bacni, all of Sandusky; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rose (Tutie) LaRose, Viola (Harry) Baker, and Vincenz Meyer all of Sandusky; two brothers, Vincent (Phyllis) Fresch of Arizona, and Charles (Brenda) Fresch of Sandusky; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jenny (DeLuca) Fresch; husband, Carl Bacni on Feb. 19, 2002; daughter, Judy Hillenbrand; a son, in infancy; two sisters, Alma Everett in 1989 and Theresa A. Moots in 2007.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Wednesday morning, April 4, at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave, Sandusky. The Rev. Christopher Kardzis will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sandusky.
