Paul M. Ward, 65, of 322 Franklin St., Sandusky, passed away with his family at his side, early Wednesday morning, March 28, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Sandusky. He had been employed with the former Hinde & Dauch and West Vaco Company for 16 years. He retired from the Toledo General Motors Powertrain Plant in 2004 after 28 years of service. He was a past member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a member of Erie County Conservation League, National Rifle Association, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. A master woodworker, he built many beautiful pieces of furniture for family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Ward is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marilyn J. (Johnson) Ward, whom he married Jan. 12, 1963; his daughter, Shanda (Bob) Wilbur of Port Clinton; and sons, Shane and Andrew Ward, both of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Jordyn Giles, Nathan Ward, Drey Ward and Savana Wilbur; his sister, Brenda (Jack) Stroupe of Springfield, Mo.; his special sister-in-law, Darlene (Pat) Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zell and Marian (Yepsen) Ward.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Friday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Private family services will be conducted with burial in Perkins Twp. Cemetery.
