Tom J. Hofacker, 71, of 1037 E. Jefferson St., Morton, Ill., died Friday, March 23, 2007, in his residence.
He was born May 26, 1935, in Norwalk, and had served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard. Tom worked 30 years at Caterpillar, Inc., retiring in 1990, from the Morton Parts Distribution Center. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Morton and the Morton American Legion Post 318.
He is survived by one son, Tim (Lee Ann) Hofacker of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two daughters, Ann Brand of Springfield, Ill., and Mary (Richard) Campbell of Stickney, Ill.; four stepsons, Curt (Peggy) Lambdin of Edwardsville, Ill., Tony (Christy) Lambdin of Morton, Ill., Scott (Val) Lambdin of Grand Junction, Colo., Mitch (Patty) Lambdin of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother, John (Theresa) Hofacker of Norwalk; one sister, Catherine Tyler of Monroeville; and 22 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen L. Lambdin in 2002; his parents, Martin and Loretta (Obringer) Hofacker; and two brothers.
Friends may call from 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday in Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville. The Rev. Kenneth J. Lill will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.
