Jean M. (Keech) Canino, age 82, 2133 Campbell St., Sandusky, died early Sunday morning, March 25, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, following a brief illness.
She was born March 18, 1925, in Sandusky and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed playing cards with the Campbell Street Card Club for many years, reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Mrs. Canino is survived by four daughters, Denise (Michael) Wyatt, Terry (Steve) Speer, Julie Roth, and Maryann Canino, all of Sandusky; a son, Richard (Donna) Canino of Sandusky; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Vartorella of Berlin Heights and Virginia Belak of Bay View; three brothers, Lamont, Robert and Richard Keech, all of Sandusky; her life-long friend, Ruthie Sumser; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Canino, in 1982; two sons, David and Daniel Canino; her parents, Albert and Viola (Pankow) Keech; one brother, Paul Keech; and three sisters, Marilyn Bowers, Donna Incorvia and Rita Keech in infancy.
Friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayer services will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky, with Fr. Chris Kardzis officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
