Thomas L. Romick, 54, of 905 W. Bogart Road, Sandusky, died early Friday morning, March 23, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, after a brief illness.
He was born June 8, 1952, in Sandusky. He was a 1970 graduate of St. Mary's High School and attended Toledo University. He owned and operated Restaurant Equipment Repair for 25 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard.
Mr. Romick was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sandusky and American Legion Post 83. He enjoyed camping, fishing and being outdoors, in addition to playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Romick is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Sumser) Romick, whom he married Oct. 13, 1972; his daughter, Melissa Romick of Columbus; and son, Scott (Stephanie) Romick of Sandusky; his mother, Jane (Gerold) Romick of Huron; sisters, Marybeth (Mike) Wilkinson of Huron and Prudy Nitschke of Fremont; his brother, Chuck Romick of Sandusky; and nieces and nephews, Kurt, Brett, Tiffany, Chris, Melinda, Michael and Marcy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Romick; his brother, Dan Romick; and his brother-in-law, Russ Nitschke.
Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky, with The Rev. Ken Lill officiating. Private family inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
