Edna G. Hees, 101, of Port Clinton, died Friday, March 16, 2007, in Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton.

Edna was born Dec. 3, 1905, in Green Township, Ohio, to William and Rosena (Sigenthaler) Lengacher. On Nov. 16, 1926, in Monroe, Mich., Edna married Richard H. Hees and he preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1986. Edna was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, Eastern Star, Mothers Club of Catawba Island and the Women's Circle of Trinity United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Colleen Shenkel and Norma Jean (Richard) Winke, both of Catawba Island; grandchildren, Bruce (Paula) Shenkel, Mark (Sue) Shenkel, Alice (Keith) Dill, Rick (Sandy) Shenkel, Michael Winke, Teresa (Jim) Wright, Dale (LuAnn) Winke and Renee (Michael) Salem; great-grandchildren, Beverly (Tom) Sheppard, Jennifer (Crispen) Cook, Joshua (Charity) Shenkel, Maryann (Eric) Smitt, Julia (Ray) Sheets, Joseph Garmyn, Charles Shenkel, Logan Winke, Jessica and Derek Scott, Gordon, Emily, Nicholas and Claire Winke, Michael and Summer Salem; great-great-grandchildren, Jessica, Drew, Kaitlen and Sarah Sheppard, Chloe and Gabriel Cook, Faith, Jonah, Caleb and Josiah Shenkel and Henry Sheets; stepgreat-great-grandchildren, Eddie Sheets, Madaline Cook, Genesis and LouisJay Mangone.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband; son, John; parents, sisters, Sophia, Lilie and Minnie; brothers, John, Henry, Frank, Wesley and Harry Lengacher; and son-in-law, Fred Schenkel.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until funeral services at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton. Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader will officiate. There will be an Order of Eastern Star service by Chapter 267 of Port Clinton as part of funeral services. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church.
