Carl D. Warner, 80, of Marblehead, passed away Wednesday evening, March 14, 2007, in Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky.
He was born March 9, 1927, in West Unity, Ohio. He was employed as a forklift driver with the General Motors Central Foundry in Defiance, Ohio, until his retirement, and was employed as a school bus driver with the Danbury Local Schools. He served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Warner was a member of the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene and Marblehead V.F.W.; and was past commander of the Harbor Grove Yacht Club in Marblehead.
Mr. Warner is survived by his loving wife, Grace M. (Robison) Warner, whom he married Aug. 27, 1953, in Bryan, Ohio; his daughters, Karen Jo (Bill Dezelick) Beckman of Port Clinton and Barbara Jean (Steven) Moore of Perkins Twp.; stepdaughters, Joyce Ann Ingle of Defiance, and Carol Sue (Paul) Bivens of Williamsport, Ohio; his son, Carl Elliott (Vicki) Warner of Toledo; stepson, Allan Lee (Brenda) Cook of Gallipolis, Ohio; his foster children, Patricia Ort of Fort Wayne, Ind., and James Hill of Napoleon, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; his sister, Carol Ann (Raymond) Folk of Bryan, Ohio; his brother, Linford C. (Martha) Warner, of Bryan; and his brother-in-law, Lavern Lanzer of Napoleon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Alta Marie (Borum) Warner; his sister, Joyce Bell Lanzer; and his brother,Maurice Warner.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, and from 10 a.m. Monday until services at 11 a.m. at Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, 4013 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Pastor David P. Flack will officiate.
