William Levi "Bud" Sibert, 75, of Vermilion, passed away early Thursday morning, March 15, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, after an illness.
He was born March 15, 1932, in Kentucky, and had been employed with the Ohio Truck Plant for more than 25 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War, and a life member of VFW Post 2529. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and lived life to the fullest.
Mr. Sibert is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Brewer) Sibert, whom he married, Nov. 10, 1957; his daughters, Carol Ann (Stephen) Bartko of Huron, Darlene (James) Harris of Texas and Marlene Sengstock of Sandusky; six grandchildren, William DeWayne, Samantha Marion, Kathryn Ann, Sara Lynn, Courtney Ann and Ciara Marie; and four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ethel Mae Jackson of Kentucky, Betty Ealy of Bellevue, Lola Finley of Sandusky, Judy Finley of Castalia, and Elizabeth Davidson of Norwalk; and four brothers, Albert Sibert of Sandusky, Tim Sibert of Berlin Heights, Tommy Sibert of Castalia and Terry Sibert of Huron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. and Florence (Lewis) Sibert.
Friends will be received from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today in Groff Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Milan, where services will be 1 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Jim Gregory, of the Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the U.S. Army.
