Edna C. Meyers, 81, of Sandusky, died Thursday morning, March 15, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a brief illness.
She was born June 12, 1925, in Sandusky, and was employed with the New Departure plant for 31 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sandusky. She loved to crochet and enjoyed feeding the birds and spoiling her cat, Cricket.
Mrs. Meyers is survived by her daughter, Sondra Lee (Robert W.) Scheel of Monroeville; five grandchildren, Constance (George II) Roeder of Monroeville, Michael (Kim) Scheel of Norwalk, Robin (Bruce) Crosby of St. Augustine, Fla., Kirsten (Tom) Schafer of Norwalk and Kyle (Nikki) Scheel of Bellevue; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine McGory of Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Meyers, on June 12, 1994; her parents, William B. and Anna C. (Spudis) James; three brothers, Captain Earnest James, William A. James and Harold James; and a sister, Inez Wilson.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. today in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, with The Rev. Philip Feltman of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.
