Charles E. Morgan, 72, of Berlin Heights, died Tuesday evening, March 13, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born on Nov. 18, 1934 in Emmett, W. Va., and has lived in the Berlin Heights area for 47 years. He was a member of the U.S. Marines and served in Korea as a Corporal. He worked at the Lorain Ford Plant for 33 years and was a member of Local 425 and its C.A.P. Council, served on the Executive Board of the Local 425 and was also vice-president for three years. He was active in Berlin Heights Little League. He was a member of the Wayside Temple in Castalia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Phyllis (Vance); a son, Charles (Rebecca) Morgan of Elmore; a sister, Shelba (Irson) Robinette of Huron; his brothers, Calvin of Kentucky and Marshall (Joanne) Morgan of Huron; his grandson, Ryan (Melinda) Morgan; granddaughter, Brittany Morgan; a great-granddaughter, Melody Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Martha (Walls) Morgan; a daughter, Rhonda Sue Morgan; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Nicole Morgan; sisters, Helen Browning and Evelyn Fowler; and three brothers, Robert, Freeman and Paul Morgan.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Wayside Temple, 3809 Maple Ave., Castalia. Pastor Rusty Yost will be officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park.
Pallbearers for the funeral will be Steve Tinnel, Rob Robinette, Eric Morgan, Ryan Morgan, Floyd Phillips and Shawn Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Vance, Irson Robinette and Darrel Browning.
