Rosemary E. (McKenna) Mees, 72, of Sandusky, passed away early Sunday evening, March 11, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born April 21, 1934, in Sandusky, and was a 1952 graduate of Sandusky High School. Years ago, she had worked as a bookkeeper and later at French-Tex Cleaners, but mostly she was a homemaker throughout the years. Rosemary enjoyed volunteering at Helpmates, but mostly loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she was involved in Rosary Altar Society, Trinity Circle 385 of the Daughters of Isabella and Prector Zeta Omicron Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi.
She is survived by her son, Richard M. "Mike" (Yon-Cha) Mees of North Ridgeville; daughter, Amie Jo (Jim) Satchell of Valdosta, Ga.; three grandsons, James, Derrick and Michael; granddaughter, Courtney; sister, Marilyn J. "Sissy" McKenna; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Jo "Patti" Mees in 1966; parents, Hugh James and Edna Delphine (Baughman) McKenna.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where a Liturgical service will be 6:30 p.m. Prayers will be 9:40 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. At her request cremation will be held following the Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
