Jacqueline E. Betton, 83, of 5000 Providence Drive, Sandusky and formerly of 119 Stoneyridge, Drive, Sandusky died Monday afternoon, March 12, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born May 5, 1924, in Butler, Ohio. Jackie was a graduate of Willard High School and the Toledo School of Nursing. She worked for Dr. Edward Baxter for many years and retired from Erie County Care Facility. Jackie was a long time member of the Democratic Women of Erie County and was invited to the White House twice during the Clinton Administration. She loved to play bridge and had played in numerous bridge clubs, including Bridge-A-Rama and the Erie County Senior Center.
She is survived by three children, Tim (Mary Ann) Betton of Sandusky, Dr. Wally (Jan) Betton of Virginia and Josey (Richard) Stewart of Galion; four grandchildren and one sister, Eva Dawson of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Betton; and her parents, Leon and Ruth (Young) Parkhurst.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Private graveside services will be held.
