Emily L. (Dykes) Mullens, 68, of Port Clinton, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, in her residence.
Emily was born Feb. 22, 1939 in Rogersville, Tenn., the daughter of Neal Carson and Lurlie Mae (Jones) Dykes. On Nov. 17, 1962, in Church Hill, Tenn., she married Howard Lee Mullens and he survives. Emily was a homemaker. She loved crafts, scrap booking, family gatherings and gardening. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who meant the world to her. Emily will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Survivors include, loving husband of 44 years, Howard Lee Mullens of Port Clinton; daughters, S. Karla (Greg) Carson of Port Clinton, Sandra (Oscar) Cook of Marblehead, Donna Chaffin of Port Clinton, Sharon (Stanley II) Cutcher and Crystal (Frank) Wheeler, both of Port Clinton; sons, Timothy (Karen) Beverly and Ted (Debera) Mullens of Sandusky; grandchildren, Breanne Hamann, Dean Carson, Bryan, Brandon, Mitchell and Mason Beverly, Ashton and Billy Mullens, Cory and Raymond Stinson, Kyle, Samantha and Stephanie Rider, Pamela LeBoeuf, Jennifer Sinkus and Frank Wheeler Jr.; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Hanna and Megan Mello, Megan Wheeler; sisters, Rosella Faulk of Kingsport, Tenn., and Mary Housewright of Church Hill, Tenn.; brothers, L.C. Dykes of Rogersville, Tenn., Franklin L. Dykes of Church Hill, Jerry Dykes of Surgoinsville, Tenn., Randall Dykes of Rogersville and Chester Dykes of Kingsport and several nieces and nephews.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leroy and Lester Dykes; great-nephew, Kevin Christian and grandson, Jason Wheeler Jr.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Saturday in Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, Port Clinton, where a memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Interment will be in Jake Jones Cemetery in Keplar, Tenn., at a later date.
