Louis J. Orshoski, 88, of Sandusky, died Monday evening, March 5, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Bay Bridge, Ohio, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a life member of AMVETS Post 17.
Mr. Orshoski is survived by his daughter, Judy (Robert) Burkey of Sandusky; his son, Robert (Fay) Orshoski of Las Vegas, Nev.; his wife, Helen Orshoski; five grandchildren, Rob, Jay, Julie, Mark and Susan; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Daigle of Texas and Helen Hessler of Sandusky; two brothers, Joseph Hurak of Sandusky and Steve Hurak of Holbart, Ind.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Julia (Herzig) Orshoski; and Steven and Elizabeth Hurak, who raised him after the death of his parents; a sister, Betty Olson; and five brothers, Andy, Joe, Nick and Steve Orshoski and Anthony Hurak.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. Thursday until services at 11 a.m. in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Entombment will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
