Gary D. Brengartner, 60, of Parma, Ohio, and formerly of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 28, 2007, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 21, 1946, in Sandusky, and was a 1964 graduate of Sandusky High School. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1968 with a degree in business administration. He resided in the Cleveland area since his retirement from First Energy in 1993 after 24 years of employment in the electric utility industry, starting with Toledo Edison in 1969. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sandusky and an active member of the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Volunteer Organization, where he had donated more than 2,000 hours of service over the last three years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn W. and Doris G. (Wendt) Brengartner.
Graveside services were private at Oakland Cemetery in Sandusky. Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, was in charge of arrangements.
