William “Mitch” Loudy Sr., 67, of Norwalk, died Saturday morning, March 3, 2007, in his residence, under the graceful care of Stein Hospice.

He was born Aug. 27, 1939 in Middlesborough, Ky. to Calvin A. Loudy Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Anderson) Loudy, now deceased. He served in the U.S. Navy from August 1957 until January 1964. He worked as a maintenance machinist at Imperial Clevite and also at Pullman Standard in Butler, Pa. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, crossword puzzles and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711 and the Bronson-Norwalk Conservation League.

He is survived by his wife, Jean M. (Singhose) Loudy of Norwalk, whom he married June 15, 1985; daughters, Judith (Raymond) Shingleton and Anita (Tony) Burke, all of Norwalk; step-daughters, Delsie (Donald) Resor and Victoria (Christopher Sr.) Wetzel, all of Norwalk; sons, William M. Loudy Jr., Nathan and Justin Loudy, all of Norwalk; step-sons, William Snow Jr. of Butler, Pa. and Charles Snow of Norwalk; brother, Calvin A. (Ann) Loudy Jr. of Norwalk; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Clara M. Loudy;
