Shirley Ann Chill-Smith, 63, of Sandusky, died early Thursday morning, March 1, 2007, in Lutheran Memorial Home, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 27, 1943, in Sandusky. She had been employed as a nurse’s aide with Colonial Manor Nursing Home and as a clerk with Hill’s Department Store. Shirley enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards and collecting angels and was an avid Elvis fan.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Clayton Smith; her daughter, Gena M. (Jack) Koch-Patton of Sandusky; her son, Gary A. Koch of Sandusky; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Ward of Sandusky; three brothers, Robert Chill of Crystal Rock, Tommy Ernst of Indiana, and Donnie (Penny) Siles of Sandusky; two very special nieces, Ronda Ward and Chantal Chill of Sandusky, and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Daryl and Gloria (Maurer) Chill; a sister, Ruth Chill; and a brother, Gerald Chill.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. Monday until services at 2 p.m. in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. David Snyder of Calvary Temple will officiate. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.
