Marilyn M. Bretz, 74, of Sandusky, passed away late Wednesday morning, Feb. 28, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 3, 1932, in Huron. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Providence Hospital, then Barr Rubber and later at Apex Company. She enjoyed making crafts and especially working with her flowers. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Oeder of Sandusky; son, Terry Bretz of Indiana; grandson, David Smith Jr.; great-grandson, David Beese; three sisters-in-law, Joan (Gerald) Sartor, Bernice (Richard) Cecil and Marilyn Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bretz in 1983; father, Andrew Yeager; mother, Wilma (Schoeptlin) Yeager-Reed; step-father, Kenneth Reed; son-in-law, Albert Oeder.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Doug Garand will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
