Hezz Barrett, 76, of Sandusky, died early Saturday morning, Feb. 24, 2007, in The Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.
He was born June 19, 1930, in West Hamlin, W. Va. He was the owner/operator of Barrett Hauling for many years. He was a member of Sandhill Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed the Cleveland Indians and spending time with his family.
He is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Larry) Culver of Bay View, Donetta (Paul) Ertle of Sandusky, who provided loving care during his illness, and Darlene (Harvey) Miller of Orville, Ohio; two sons, Michael Barrett and Tim (Kellie) Barrett, both of Sandusky; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Flora (Bill) Dempsey and Flossie Wallace; three brothers, Monroe, Cecil and Herbert Barrett; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel (Hensley) in 1989; three daughters, Sandra Rieger, Janet Richardson and one in infancy; his parents, Byrd and Garnet Barrett; one sister, Florence Barrett; and three brothers, John, Jim and Bud Barrett.
Friends may call from from 11 a.m. Wednesday until funeral services at 1 p.m. in Sandhill Freewill Baptist Church, 7703 Mason Road, Castalia. The Rev. Garry Sorrell Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery,
