Lauren M. Rogers, 17, of 4806 Wahl Road, Sandusky, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 26, 2006, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 24, 1989, in Bremerton, Wash. She attended Margaretta High School, where she was a junior, an honor roll student and member of the chamber ensemble. She loved taking pictures and shopping. She had been employed at Rue 21.
Lauren is survived by her parents, Yvonne Marie (Matthews) and Peter Maldonado; six sisters, Tiffany (Joe Wild IV) Rogers of Sandusky, Ariel Rogers, Samantha and Eilene Hinkle, all at home, Fernanda (Buford "Fuzzy" Caldwell) Maldonado and Felicia Maldonado, both of Sandusky; two brothers, Nathaniel (Stella Halfhill) Rogers of Sandusky and Jonathon Smith of Florida; two nieces, Lilianna Jo Wild and Lynnette Coleman; her grandmother, Virginia Ringle Hastings; her special aunt, Susan Hastings; and special friends, Donald Schean and Amanda Ryan.
She was preceded in death by two uncles, Gary Lee Matthews and Gunnery Sgt. Darrell Boatman, USMC; and cousin, Kristen Dean.
Friends will be received from 4-9 p.m. Friday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Jeff Wittmer of the Northcoast Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
