Jay Vincent Gadd, 36, of Mansfield and formerly of Collins, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 200, in his residence in Mansfield.
He was born Dec. 27, 1969 in Marietta, Ga. He attended Western Reserve Elementary School in Collins and graduated from Galion High School in 1988. He served in the U.S. Army from1988-91 during Desert Storm. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He worked as a roofer in Galion, a brick mason in Columbus, worked at Crane Plumbing in Mansfield and also did landscaping.
He is survived by his sons, Carter Gadd of Bexley, Ohio, and Griffin Gadd of Gypsum, Colo.; parents, Roy and March (Gibson) Gadd of The Villages, Fla.; brothers, Bryan (Susan) Gadd of Columbus and Darin Gadd of Ocala, Fla.; half-sisters, Tracy (Rodney) Francis of Huron and Kelly DelVecchio of Huron; paternal grandmother, Sarah Washburn of Scottdale, Pa.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty and Hugh Griffn and William Kenneth Gadd.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Carl H. Fannin will officiate. A luncheon will follow at the West Hartland United Methodist Church. Private interment will be at a later date.
