Harriet "Dottie" K. Lippus, 94, of Sandusky, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, in Parkvue Healthcare Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1912, in Berlin Heights. She graduated from Berlin Heights High School and attended Bowling Green State University. She was employed as a bridal consultant at Forster China Company, retiring after many years of service. She was a member of Eastern Star and served as a Girl Scout leader for many years. An avid card player with her card club, she also enjoyed ceramics, loved animals and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a warm and compassionate person.
Mrs. Lippus is survived by a daughter, Judy L. (James L.) Smith of Sandusky; a son, Jerry G. Lippus of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren, Craig (Cathy) Lippus, Sheri Taylor, Jim Lippus, Debe (Richard) Brady, William Smith, Shane Smith, Tyra (John) Lehmann, Amy (Jeffrey) Anderson, Scott (Michelle) Smith and Matthew Smith; 13 great-grandchildren, Christine, Ryan, and Carrie Brady, Taylor and Taryn Lehmann, Luke and William Anderson, Olivia, Lily, and Cecilia Smith, Katie and Amy Lippus and Jakob Taylor; two sisters, Thelma Manzo of Gainesville, Ga. and Rute Hite of Vermilion, Ohio; a son-in-law, William Smith of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Edwin Lippus, on Feb. 23, 1968; a daughter, Elinor Jean Smith, on Oct. 21, 2002; and a sister, Naida DeMuth.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Episcopal Church, where a luncheon will be open to family and friends immediately following the service. The Rev. Ernest Matijasic will officiate.
