June K. (Rattunde) Pitcher, 75, of Castalia, passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, in Stein Hospice Inpatient Unit, due to numerous complications following heart surgery.

She was born June 8, 1935, and lived most of her life in Sandusky and Castalia. June was a 1953 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was a Realtor with Disbrow Realty and Ballah Real Estate companies. As a member of the Erie County Board of Realtors, June served as the board secretary and past-president of the Women's Council of Real Estate. She was a life member of First Faith Community Church (formerly United Church of Christ), past president of the Women's Circle, past member of church council, served as church secretary, and was honored as Woman of The Year in 1978.

June loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed corresponding with friends on the computer, sewing, dining out and traveling. Her raspberry jelly and spaghetti sauce were absolutely delicious and June's mouth watering pies were requested at every gathering.

June is survived by her husband, Ervin C. "Bud" Pitcher, whom she married June 12, 1953; a daughter, Linda J. (Thomas) Wade of Clyde; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Stephen) Wiedenheft and Melissa (Troy) Brown of Castalia, Keith Pitcher of Norwalk, and Jennifer (Adrian) Pina of Texas; five great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Mikayla Brown, Rowdy and Remington Wiedenheft and Alexis Pitcher; a cousin, Jane M. Nicely of Sandusky; three brothers-in-law, James (Bette) Ruppert of Bellevue and James (Martha) Pitcher and Donald (Martha) Pitcher of Sandusky; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Blair of Sandusky and Nancy Moore of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by a son, Charles M. Pitcher; her parents, Herman E. and Helena M. (Gassman) Rattunde, Sandusky; cousins, Jean Miller, Sandusky, Ellen McLaughlin, Canfield, Ohio; sister-in-law, Barbara J. Ruppert, Bellevue; brothers-in-law, Walter F. Blair and George Pitcher Jr. of Sandusky; and a nephew, Donald Pitcher, Sandusky.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until funeral services at 11 a.m. at First Faith Community Church, 225 E. Jefferson St., Sandusky. The Rev. Eric Rickel will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
