A Huron County judge sentenced Greenwich resident Joshua Bierce to four years in prison for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl in 2010.

Bierce, 32, was sent to Lorain Correctional Institution on Monday, where he'll remain until 2015. Because of a new sentencing law that applies to sexual offenders, he is not eligible to receive any credit for good behavior while he's behind bars.

He pleaded guilty to sexual battery.

Bierce was already a registered sex offender at the time of the offense — he was convicted in 1998 of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

To read what Huron County assistant prosecutor Jennifer Deland had to say about the sentence, pick up Thursday's Register.

4 years???? He should get as many years that an average female lives (I think it's 74). If the girl is 13...the guy should get 61 years in prison (her age minus average life span). Rot in hell you scumbag. You'll get what's coming to you...in this life or the next.

@ Taxpayer

As if liberals would condone behavior like this.  Also, I used to live in a town in which a conservative judge was known for letting crooks off the hook. So, let's not make the mistake that this is a political issue.

Come to think of it, why the heck is EVERYTHING a political issue for you. Did your Prozac Rx run out again? Get some Anger Management counseling, dude...

I can't figure out why a woman who stole money from a church gets 4 years in prison and this man (?) only gets 4 years. Even though I understand the church hurting from losing the money, this child has lost so much more.

sorry Taxpayer, your wrong on my count, I don't vote liberals into office that is what is wrong with the country today. I vote more towards the person who has the better morals and as for this judge, they should be on trial for misjustice.

Everyone CALM down!  You crybaby liberals VOTED for this liberal justice so enjoy it.  It is PROVEN in all the other stories of liberal punishment reported by the Register.  A SECOND time (repeat offender for you dropouts) sexual offender ALREADY in the sex offender registry and he gets a measly four years??  Notice the story includes NO time off for good behavior in those four years.  Ooo, does that make all you liberal saps "FEEL GOOD" about yourselves?  I can't wait for you losers to begin minimizing the travesty of this sentence by making FALSE, self-anointed, claims about getting prison justice.  "Duh, convicts have kids too.  Duh, I 'hear' they really like these type of guys for girlfriends."  Ha! Ha!  There is NO prison justice to make you freaks "FEEL GOOD" in your miserable lives.  So, get OFF IT!  You liberal democracks remember this when he walks out of prison, FREE as a bird, to do it again and again.  I can hear you liberals now, "Oh, we must be understanding.  We must open our arms of liberal friendship.  You must take this offender into your home to save him.  We need to have compassion.  We need to FORCE employers to give him a job.  We need to save the trees.  He is such a troubled young man."  Ha! ha!  Yeah right!  That is until he decides to sexually assault someone in YOUR family.  Then YOU crybabies will demand the death penalty or justify self-anointed justice to commit MURDER!  Here is a tip for you liberals who love this "progressive, social justice."  He has NOTHING to lose and you have NO say about it!  He can NOT secure a job flipping burgers, he needs to satisfy his hunger for sexual deviance and needs to be on the government dole of entitlements (Three hots and a cot and free health care for you dropouts) for LIFE.  We have a MURDER trial coming up.  We shall see if your typical "social justice" cancer continues as your monument to liberal due process.  We will see if this fits the same felicitous liberal template of "just deserts."  YOU voted for this, now EAT IT!  So why get your panties all in a twist?  Ha! Ha!

Bierce was already a registered sex offender at the time of the offense — he was convicted in 1998 of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. only 4 years for a second offender? that lady attorney from oak harbor is still in prison. i think that she got 8 years in the slammer and she didn't hurt anybody. stupid judges and courts.

Seriously, his 2nd conviction and only 4 years?  You know in days gone past, families didn't rely on the courts in most of the matters, there was a man in the house, brothers etc, who addressed the issue..........
