Anybody else notice that all of the dogs in the pictures had tags and were on a leash?
i was just thinking the same thing!!
EXACTLY! If I let my dog run loose, as the dogs owner I am responsible for the dog. Why does the media not reprimand this owner for not having that dog tied up, in the house or whatever. It's called RESPONSIBILITY.
Excelent Point. I also wondered if all of the people do not have jobs, or actually burnt a vacation day.
The question I think they need to ask themselves is "Do we have a history of the Police killing dogs in this town, or was this an isolated incident?" Since it is an isolated incident and there is no SPD Vendetta against dogs, what is the root cause of the dog being loose on multiple occasions it acting as it did and has in the past?
Mr. Sandusky you are 100% accurate to get to the root cause - Dog on leash or in the house, you have no story here.

Wonder how many would have shown up if this dog was shot after mauling a child.Dogs, all dogs can be as dangerous as any weapon can be.It is so odd that dog was loose one time in its life and this happens. If you think consequences for a dog bite are minimal the average costs $80 thousand nationally.Did anyone of the sixty protesters ever care for that dog or feed it or take it to the vet?
Control your pets or pay one way or another.
Another valid reason women must not be in combat.
I'm a woman and I have to say I don't think women should be able to be firefighters, either. The body strength just isn't there to do a fireman's carry.
I have seen women BIGGER and STRONGER than some men. These jobs you speak of, firefighter, military combat, etc take a certain type of person. Be it male or female. Some men should NOT be in combat, some women SHOULD.
Ive yet to meet one woman who could ever lift more than any guy I know of the same age group. Maybe you could find a few down at the Arnold Classic in Columbus....but your avg female.....not even close.
I will not disagree with your assessment about the average women, but the military isn't all about Braun. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the most intelligent people in the military, I will have to say the top 60% of those intelligent military strategist happen to be female.
There also happen to be a few of those females that probably could beat you at any military exercise that you compete in, including hand to hand combat.
Not everything is about muscle sizes and how much you can bench or lift. I can't speak for combat rolls but firefighting is just as much about tactics and strategy as it is brut strength. Different firefighters play different rolls in training and response. Some take attack rolls and others are part of the strategies. To say a women " shouldn't" be a firefighter or have a combat roll or any occupation for that matter because of size and strength? Well that's just back words thinking. Also I still have no idea why these comments fit into the comments for this article.
What does this have to do with women being in combat?
And EXCUSE ME?! As a woman, who strongly looked into going into the Air Force and still intend to, I don't appreciate this statement.
Time for bigheads like you to do the caring of girls like me instead of vise versa.
Is it just me or is anyone else wondering if any of these people have jobs?
it's not just you
@wzwqx2, So you are online while you should be working too?
People do have lunch hours and breaks to get online and read. In the people's defense, some people work 2nd and third shift.
Not just you...
Looks to me like over 60 people need a job!
@ Hoss McPee, Maybe Obama can get them a union job.

firecrackers are not really violent. if they were you wouldn't be able to purchase them. booooooooommmmmm!
in picture #19, are those chicks making out?
Grizzly Adams is there with a video camera
For one thing...not everybody works 1st shift so just bbecause they were there doesn`t mean they are unemployed. I`ve noticed the comments about unemployeed people are coming from people sitting at their computers at 11am on a weekday. At least these people are getting out and doing something.
Some people have jobs that put them in front of a computer screen. Not every body wears a headset and asks if you want fries with that at their job :-....FACE
And that is how she dresses to appear in court? People that show no respect for the courts should get none in return.
One of the first things I noticed also Pterocarya... yes, ripped jeans always show courts deference don't they?
@Pterocarya frax ,it is rude to complain about someone's clothing.
It is also RUDE to disrespect the court and not dress properly
Did all 60 people go into the courtroom? Or did they just stand outside? I dont think the parking lot has a dress code.
If all 60 people went into the Court room. How many would not had left becouse of WARRENTS against them?????? Just my thoughts.
"And that is how she dresses to appear in court? People that show no respect for the courts should get none in return."
Respect for the courts in Eeerie County? What a JOKE that is!
I thought someone said she was hot? Lucy, your owner, woof!

Insert any joke here to make the comments that ensue as funny as you wish! They take mine off and leave the 13 dirty responses up! They are discriminating against me!
Don't forget the head tap. The cop didn't give a warning shot and we all know how that turned out.
A little protein won't kill her though.
You should probably just dot the i to be on the safe side.
Shoot for the tramp stamp
I get off work at 5:00. Eiffel Tower anyone??
Im in! Just don't cross the streams
Get ahold of Grizzley Adams and see if he'll loan us his video camera.
I was thinking he could film/ watch
Obviously, he'd have to sign a waiver and wear safety glasses though.
He would need to wear a hair net on that beard

I see $$
We're gonna get Perkins rich!
I hope one of you is a chick
The chick comprises the middle component of the Eiffel Tower. C'mon Rick! Step ya game up playboy!
Or it could be a wobbly H too, www.urbandictionary.com
I like it
I'm too old to have game, I was born in the 80's for christ sake! Plus I'm white! No game, and can't jump.
Born in the 80's too old?
Don't be getting any get rich quick ideas, I ain't yer Pa.
Back to the drawing board
I like your style though, Kid. Get yourself a riding mower and you could be a commissioner someday.
Gee thanks mister
When you're commissioner I'd like permission to film "Boy and the Booty" in Washington Park. Can you make that happen?
Think we can get Dirty Dick Nick Vincent to come out of retirement?
We could resurrect john holmes

It could be a snuff film
With all of the Asians and Eastern Europeans working at CP during the summer, finding local "talent" shouldn't be hard.
We will need a bunch of disposable razors
Lighter fluid & matches would be cheaper.
Take it out of the special effects budget.
Yeah it could be the way the movie starts, you know, with a burning bush
A bible story. I like it. We can get Jesus from Casa Fiesta to play Jesus
That or grizzly Adams, since he is already there with the camera. Please keep the budget in mind
I understand what you're saying but we have to spend money to make money and Grizz is not "front of the camera" talent.
He could come in later i guess as Sasquatch
Great idea! Now we need a midget! Squatch smashing a midget would make us Huron rich!!!!!
I hope you are writing this down! This is gold!
We gotta put a leash and a collar in the background of each film. Like a where's Waldo. The fans will love the secret shout out to Sandirty.
I like where your head's at, maybe a Rottweiler head too
Maybe. Know where we can find one?
Lets find lucy, we can crash the funeral
The landfill closes at 5.
All you people are sitting here making fun of someone~big deal you have computers jobs~well, shouldnt you be working instead of being on SR.com. Must be nice. It's about a dog getting shot unjustly and nothing else so go back to work. As for people being unemployed~since when is that funny? Especially nowadays when there is no work to be found except for big shots with a computer in front of them visiting SR.com
I am working. It's not like I can flag down cars and make them get off the turnpike and pay their tolls. Don't blame me, blame EZ Pass.
Would you just be happy already
Turn yo frown da udda way around mon!
Ceasar Millan is coming to show you how to keep your dog on a leash and buy dog tags like every one else does. Sad and too late for Lucy though.
Watching the video I ask myself a couple of questions...
1 - Why didn't the lazy bum come out of the house to see why the dog was barking, there was ample of time, yet he didn't go out until AFTER it was shot.
2 - Did anyone see the bus drive by in the background? What would have happened if the bus dropped off a few kids before the police got there and the dog injured a child?
3 - Why don't the owners feel they are to blame when it is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to make sure THEIR pet is secured?
@ Speakezy, What would have happened if the bullet ricochet of the concrete and hit one those kids on the bus?
Are you listening to yourself? You sound ridiculous!
So do you rod.
No need to worry Kat, it never would have happened. IF the bullet did ricochet, the cop would have shot another bullet at the ricocheting bullet. As the two bullets collided, he would have fired a third shot that would direct the first 2 towards the dog. The officer would then fire a fourth shot as the third bullet descended. Upon impact, the third and fourth bullets would then change trajectory and hit the dog as well. Trust me, it's possible. I've seen that Bugs Bunny episode fifty times.
Okay, so where's the fashion police for this rally? Seriously, some of the protesters should go to jail for what they're wearing in public. Sweat pants and boots? Seriously? I feel for the dog and don't condone cops or anyone else shooting them but the dog should not have been loose. I keep my dog in the house and when she is outside she is on a chain or a leash. She seems threatening to others but is actually fearful of most people. I would not let her run loose not just for other people's safety, but also for her own.
Oh, sweet puppies, nobody will shoot YOU because YOUR owner cares enough about you to have you licensed & leashed so that you aren't out menacing innocent people.
I am a huge dog lover, the bigger they are the better, mine are big Teddy Bears, but they never allowed outside unless leashed and they are licensed, they have been trained not to bark or show aggressive behavior, that being said. How many of these same people showed support for Officer Dunn or any of our recent homicide victims? In April of last year this same lady was found guilty of dog at large, she was given court costs only, clearly Judge O'Brien didn't take it seriously maybe if he had the dog would not have been loose again.
So whats the protest for? Dont charge me because I didnt abide by the law? I really loved a dog that most people think will bite them and let him outside unattended and he got shot so everyone feel sorry for me? Cops should wait to be attacked by large animals before protecting themselves and the public? Nice gethering of people but Whats the point people? GEESH!
C'mon!!! This is such a joke! First, pay for some damn tags like the rest of us responsible citizens do. Second, keep track of your dog, who is obviously very protective and very strong, like the rest of us responsible citizens do. Third, when a policeman shows up at your home and addresses you by first name (and I'm guessing it's not b/c he knows you from church)I'm guessing you're not really a responsible citizen like the rest of us. Grow up, take responsibility for your part in this incident and learn something...don't just blame the rest of us responsible citizens, including the SPD. All of us, the police, mail carriers, maybe your neighbors who may have a small child that wants to ride their bike on the sidewalk...only want what's safe and responsible! Grow up!!!
I was there. It was dumb.
HA!!!! No job?
Ever hear of " second shift" ?
Is that the one I take after lunch?
First one is after morning coffee
Lucy is lucky I wasn't the officer. Cause I would've unloaded the gun on her.
I would have nailed it with the cruiser
D. Hansen has proven record regarding her cur. Thanks for proving aforementioned discourse. Combat Marines use nano second logic in life or death matters. Attitudes like yours get people dead. Boot Camp eliminates people with weak attitudes. Maybe the airforce would use you, though in what fashion is un-clear.
That's nothing compared to my Old Navy stories. Black Friday, 2009..... I'm sorry. I'm not ready to talk about it yet. If you weren't there, you'd never understand.
That was a rough one
We lost a lot of good men that day.
Was that the infamous Performance Fleece Riot?
Yep, I thought I would never see flip flops used as a weapon.
It was like something out of Apocalypse Now. Charlie don't surf but we forgot he wears flip flops.
Lucy is the victem here, no tags, no license, no responsible person checking on her, a police officer not willing to call the dog warden and wait in his cruiser , possible [not probable] danger to people out and about in the area. Many people are afraid of dogs. How old was she[the dog] again? Sad ,its over, we can all learn from this.
What's a victem?
Looks like a bunch of bums protesting a job opening.
and people wonder how the this town has become known as SANDUMPY!!! just look at the pics!! lmaoooo.
Who was it that said you could trust the little dogs?
The dog had a gun license, but no dog license.
Nobody wants to take responsibility for their actions. Classic case of blaming others for your shortcomings.
What is the meaning of the banner and image displayed in photos 29 & 30?
Lets pull the religion card and pretend we are good Christians, that way we might get off with the fine!
How about photo #28. Is that the City Manager with her head in the window singing Who Let the Dogs Out?
very funny, I'm still laughing at that one.
I think the two Boxers with the signs around their necks are cute , but I think one sign should have read " I'm surrounded by idiots " and the other " I poop therefore I am" ; )))))
Wow all the dogs are on a leash and have tags. If that was the case with Donna's dog it would be just fine. Also apparently these people are living off those of us who work or took vacation to protest. But I'm guessing it's probably the first one.
Your name says it all....only a fool ASSumes. I was at that rally. I work full-time. I own my own home and I pay plenty of taxes. So don't sit here and spout off to me about going to this rally while living off the likes of you. At least I wasn't at work stealing from my employer by being online on company time wasting time spouting ignorant nonsense on a message board like so many others here.
The people at this rally had the guts to stand up for something. That's probably something you've never done in your life.
What did you stand up for, dog owner who didn't have the common sense to keep her dog restrained and buy a license that would assist in returning the dog if lost. Did she share with all her supporters the fact that she was issued a citation last April for allowing the dog to run at large? Yeah she sounds like the type an advocate for animals should support. If you want to advocate for animals, volunteer at the humane society.
These people are being taken in by the real killers of Lucy .
Amazing that this many people would get together over a dog, yet wont show up to your local school board meeting or city council meeting when issues arise.........Merica.....we have a problem.
Ugh, some of you really must be proud of yourselves, all judgemental idiots that you are. Hahaha. Real funny. I'm just amazed that nobody has blamed it on Obama yet. And I'll bet a lot of you don't have any fashion sense either, what with those sticks up your butts.
Obama shot Lucy! !
Everybody knows it was a drone. Obama's killing our pets now!
I bet he used an " assault rifle" too
It's Bush's fault, if he hadn't wrecked the economy in 2008, this young lady would have been making more money last year and paid the fine...sarcasm.
Actually, now that you bring that up.... Lol. Sense of entitlement its the root of the protest...
Who tipped the dog over? pow pow pow! (The new song parody of who let the dogs out)
How refreshing to see all those leashed and licensed dogs. Too bad the owner couldn't follow the law abiding pet owners.
...and how "long" was the officer supposed to "wait" in his vehicle? What?, bust out the popcorn, turn to a 1200 am station for sound, as a child, civil service worker, or elderly strolled down the sidewalk ( which, by the way, is only a place for citizens, and LEASHED animals), only to be frightened, trip on their head, suffer a heart attack, or get mauled? Come on...this officer doesn't have to "sit" around for anything, even more so, after a CIVIL SERVANT called for assistance. And the "boyfriend" sure didn't take any notice to all the chaos, until a 9mm report was issued. Get off your high horses, pay your fines, KEEP your next pet secured, from harming, or thus being harmed by the public. GOODNIGHT! I'm here till' Thursday! Try the veal!
I understand, and feel the loss for Lucy's owner. However, if you love your animals as much as your children, wouldn't you look out for them?
If she heard her child cry or scream, wouldn't she have been there within seconds? If you hear your dog bark, or hear any type of commotion, wouldn't you go out to see what is going on, within seconds? I couldn't watch the video, and I won't. It's all about RESPONSIBILITY.
All of the same people on this subject, you cannot tell me that buddies of this officer aren't these people. Just trying to find justification for the officers WRONGS doing on this one to make it look like everyone in the city thinks he was right
Your english is fantastic
Are you kidding me? This many people show up because a dog was JUSTIFIABLY shot? I guess this shows the intelligence, or lack thereof, of some of Sandusky's finest citizens. On a side note...I just saw there's a facebook page titled, "Justice for Lucy." Lucy's justice came because of the NEGLECT of it's owners.
I think it's such a joke how these people will show up to protest such useless things while ignoring issues that actually matter.
Trustafairy, you and your friends sound pretty ignorant. Are all Sanduskians like you and your playmates on here?
What was these people supporting? A dog owner who didn't have the common sense to keep her dog restrained and buy a license that would assist in returning the dog if lost. Did she share with all her supporters the fact that she was issued a citation last April for allowing the dog to run at large? If only she would have the poor dog restrained, licensed and trained it would be alive today. Yeah she sounds like the type an advocate for animals should support. If you want to advocate for animals, volunteer at the humane society, not supporting someone who know tries to make it all about her and deflect responsibility.
