Rock & Roll Express brings the music and the lighting
Jeff Goretzki is the owner of the Rock & Roll Express Disk Jockey Service. Jeff started his business out of his own home in 1986, but on December 19, 2012 Jeff moved into his new studio at 2419 East Perkins avenue suite C.
I like how the Register has been supporting new business lately with these "mini showcases". It really gives them a chance to get their name, as well as what they do, out there for those of us who otherwise might not be aware.
Congratualtions Jeff, and good luck!
Being featured recently, too, I certainly agree with you, Cookie! Not only from a business to the public, but even business to business. Seeing this here, should I need a DJ for our shop's events, it will help me make my decision. Networking is important. I wish Jeff and his business well! I've already told several of our people in our community about the new metaphysical shop in Huron that was featured, too.
???WHO IS HE??? Seriously? Jeff is probably by far one of thee most amazing, courteous, up to date, respectful, and professional DJ's in Erie County and surrounding Counties. He DJ'ed for our Sep 1 wedding and he was AWESOME! If I had to or could go back and do it all over again, I probably would have done most of our wedding differently, other than Jeff! I could seriously not give you one bad thought or complaint about him and his business. He is phenomenal and affordable. I would recommend him to any and all couples that are getting married, or throwing sweet 16's or any type of party.
Jeff, you made our night so memorable. Many things went wrong at/in our wedding and you took all of our attention away from it all and gave us one of the best night of our lives! Thank you for such a spectacular job!
As I have always said, so tired of the SR doing story after story about one business.(Hero Zone) the latest. My advertising money ,never, and never will be given to them anymore. Like they always say "It's who you know".
It does seem that you are upset more with the Register than me, at least I hope? It was nice to be featured as I was, but I will give you the context so you don't feel like I am somehow in the know with anyone there or that the Register has picked me to be a golden child of the business community above all others, ever. The store has been mentioned on and off for the 10+ years we have been around (and we've listed events in Funcoast too). Most recently, I caught the attention of Mr. Ouriel when in December I finally decided to get involved in the local government and volunteered my time and knowledge to them to help fix the city problems.
For stepping up (and since following up) on that day, he wanted to do a story about our shop and also referred us to the business reporter. So they came and interviewed us not even about our products but about who we are as a very real slice of the county's demographics. It was about our purpose, not necessarily our business. The Hero Zone is effectively a community venue that funds itself with retail. I can only WISH they would publish our sales, niche goods, and the like for free in a news story, haha!
As for the photo posting about the Pokemon tournament, I at the last minute emailed them saying (effectively) "Hey, we are going to be having a ~70 person Pokemon City Championship tournament that will draw people from MI to PA and all over Ohio to boot. It would be a good photo opportunity to showcase Sandusky is a destination location even in the winter." And so, at the last minute, they found time to come out and show that attraction.
Just as well, being a responsible businessman, before EVERY big tournament I draw outsiders from I welcome them and inform them they can get Subway down the street, pizza around the corner, a hot dog a further bit away, and an adult beverage at the local bars. I tell them I will guide them to whatever they seek and provide them menus from almost every restaurant in the area that I keep in a binder (affectionately known in the store as "The Book of Many Noms", or, "The Manynomicon").
So, again, as it seems you are more upset with the Register than me(?), I hope I at least put you at ease that I haven't handled any of the attention in a hoggish manner or that I think I am better than any other small business around. Actually, aside from a few congratulations, I don't believe I have had anyone in my store that I haven't already BECAUSE of those stories. So while they didn't hurt, and I sincerely appreciated them, I didn't go gangbusters and consume the discretionary budgets of the residents of Sandusky/Erie County to the detriment of others.
If you do have any questions about my store or the events we run, though, I will sincerely invite you to come in and talk to me about them. I try to be as transparent as possible and would love any opportunity to share about who we are and what we do. Especially when I still get the occasional person walking in and being thankful that we aren't, and I quote, "demon worshipers" haha. You can check out our Facebook page as well for more info and to see just how many events we run, and that doesn't include all the weekly ones that I don't post (as they would drown out our special events).

What does this guy do, a DJ or Photographer? Where is the story with this lead?

Is this the guy who called himself "Mad Jeff" on WCPZ years ago? Curious.
