Local police respond every day to heated and unusual situations. The following is one item pulled from the daily police blotter. SANDUSKY POLICE THURSDAY, SEPT. 20 2:05 p.m. - U.S. 6 and Martha Drive a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country driven by John Heilman, 61, 300 block Center St., Huron, veered left of center and smashed into the rear end of an oncoming dump truck driven by Charles Good, 52, 400 block Center St. Heilman sustained non-incapacitating injuries and deputies cited him for operating vehicle intoxicated. For the full daily police blotter from agencies across the area, pick up the Register or check out the e-paper.

ok, When I first read this, I wondered if the dump truck driver was driving in reverse. Now that I re-read it, I think they meant that the Town and Country hit the back part of the dump truck.

LOL!   It is worded crazy!

 Uhhh, isn't this the DOCTOR?

Drunk at 2:00 in the afternoon?

Was he leaving the office, or returning after a liquid lunch?

@DickTracey, are you KIDDING? A DOCTOR??? And at 2 o'clock in the afternoon... I hope he was headed home (or to the next bar, maybe) and not going to work. Scary to think a doctor might see patients in that state, isn't it?

Is he not a chiropractor?  Is he retired?  I remember that name.  Just asking.  But that does not excuse his condition.  Was he trying to pass someone and hit that truck when he did this?

Whatever, there are more and more people drinking and driving.  I don't care what their profession.  This is inexcusable.

It doesn't do any good to say don't drink and drive.  They do it anyway.  I still think they need that little thing in the car that you beathe into that won't allow the car to start if you have been drinking at all.

No booze, it starts, booze, it won't.  It is the only solution.

millie by any o...

A drunk driver going left of center on cleveland road hits the back of a dump truck.  The SR only prints the story in the blotter. Doesn't print he is a Dr. who advertises with them. No pictures wow. But we take pictures beer cans and rx bottles at other accidents. Talk about bias reporting.
