Local police respond every day to heated and unusual situations. The following is one item pulled from the daily police blotter. SANDUSKY POLICE THURSDAY, AUG. 9 12:39 p.m. - 2200 block Campbell St., cats swarmed condemned house, fresh cat food sat on steps, police smelled stench of feline urine from over 50 feet away, box fans in windows wafted the scent even further. For the full daily police blotter from agencies across the area, pick up the Register or check out the e-paper.

Seems like if there were working fans in the window, there must be electricity to the home which would indicate someone is living in the home. Call Ohio Edison

I agree.  If there is power in the home for fans, someone is paying the bill!  This is the problem with the feral cat issue, people with BUFFET style feeding bowls for stray cats! DO NOT FEED THE CATS.  Once they know there is food they will keep coming back.  When you put out cat food, you also encourage raccoons, skunks, opposum, and of course the CATS.  I really do not understand how people will feel bad for a stray cat by feeding it, but if a dog wanders in the yard they call the cops/dog warden and HIDE in the house till it is gone.  A cat can carry just as many diseases and cause just as injury/stitches as a dog.

if the house is condemned how is it that there is still electric running to it and someone is living there?  Are the cats paying the electric bill?

Crazy Cat Lady says unless your taking her out for a date tonight, Leave her to her obsession!

I love cats but I do not feed the stray ones in my neighborhood.  They get enough food getting into everyone's trash at night....

If the house is condemned, did the police look to see if maybe there is a cord running from another house to this one to run the fans??
