Unplugged a lamp? Was the electricity still on?

FruGalSpender

maybe the lamp was used on a timer to give the impression that somebody was living there. many people use lamps on timers when they go on vacations. why did the firemen bust down the door? now anybody just can walk in and burn the place down. why didn't the police and firemen just get a hold of the owner instead of busting down a door if no fire existed? almost every home has fire hazards.

Westend Homeown

or better yet why if it was such a big fire hazzard and couldn't find homeowner didn't firemen and police contact the utility services provider to shut utility services off

If the window was broken from a chair being thrown through it why not enter through the broken window and check things out instead of causing more damage to the home???? JMHO

whoa.....that is going to be one mad homeowner when they find out.  Who pays for THAT damage?

Why NOT go thru the window like TK says?  And yes, many people use timers on lights as Fruga.. says.  this is a bit overzealoused, don't you think?

I would think someone knew who owns the place before going to all this to cause more damage.  WOWWW  I would be steaming fuming mad and the chief would be paying the damages for his "troops"on this one.
