Sandra S. Hemmer, June 23, 1943-Feb. 3, 2012

Sandra S. Hemmer, 68, Sandusky, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, in the Cleveland Clinic.

She was born June 23, 1943, in Sandusky to the late Phillip and Mary (Banjoff) Pappas.

Sandra was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was employed by the George Canalos Co. for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, C. Robert Hemmer, whom she married, Sept. 14, 1974; special cousins, Jim and Nancy Banjoff, Avon Lake, Ohio; special companion, her dog, Saydee; and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Thomas Pappas.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where a remembrance service will begin at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Fr. Paul Gassios will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
