Huron police arrest 3 after vandalism, guns found

Huron police seized a loaded AK-47 assault rifle and two handguns last week after nabbing three people suspected of vandalizing a woman's car.
Officers arrested Kaila Susak, 23, of Olmsted Township; Thomas Paine, 22, of Norwalk; and Corey Day, 21 of Olmsted Falls.
Day was charged with criminal trespass, criminal damaging, possessing criminal tools and improper transport of a firearm.
Paine was charged with criminal trespass, criminal damaging, possessing criminal tools and intimidating a victim, while Susak was charged with complicity to criminal damaging.
At about 1:30 a.m. June 3, an officer stopped two "shadowy figures" walking across Berlin Road, wearing dark clothing and bandanas around their necks, a police report said.
The officer asked them why they were walking around so early in the morning, and one man -- later identified as Day -- said he was cooling off after a fight with his girlfriend.
Paine told the officer he was along just for the walk.
The men first said they were from Norwalk and were staying with a friend on Berlin Road, but later changed their story and said they were headed to meet a woman in a car parked up the road, the report said.
Officers searched the two and found they were carrying knives, firearm ammunition, gloves and Gorilla glue.
The officer then drove them to the car parked down the road and found Susak sitting inside.
As he approached the vehicle, however, the officer immediately noticed the AK-47 in the back seat, the report said.
The semi-automatic rifle was loaded.
Also in the vehicle was a Bersa Thunder .380-caliber handgun, a Walther PK380 handgun and a BB gun, the report said.
Day claimed ownership of the guns -- he told the officer he had a concealed-carry permit and had been shooting the weapons earlier in the day but had yet to remove them from the car.
Day then told police he and Paine had vandalized Paine's ex-girlfriend's car by gluing the gas cap shut and slashing the vehicle's back tires, the report said.
Paine had previously been charged in Huron Municipal Court for telephone harassment, stemming from another incident in which his ex-girlfriend was the target.
The officer confiscated the weapons and took all three suspects back to the police station.
Susak posted bond that day, while Paine and Day appeared in Huron Municipal Court that morning.
Day was released after his court appearance, but Paine remains in the Erie County jail, jail officials said.

I'm not twisting anything. I'm simply holding your feet to the fire. You've made claims, but refuse to support them. You're a faceless post on the internet, who, for all we know, is a close friend of the suspects, or even one of them, with a strong vested interest in slanting this in their favor. Why should we believe you? At least the police are willing to make their report public, Why shouldn't we believe them over you, when all you're willing to offer is vague accusations of lying, and you're not even to tell us what the lies are, let alone what you claim is the truth? For all we know, you've been hired by the defense counsel to muddy the water, and that's why you're being so cagey - wouldn't want to say anything that could be held against you.
You claim the story is inaccurate. HOW?
Is the entire thing a fantasy - none of it ever happened, or are certain allegations false?
Did the police make up the part about the vandalism, or the guns?
I doubt the prosecutor would go forward on the vandalism unless the owner of the car was willing to make a statement and allow her car to be photographed, etc.
Nor would he file the weapons charges if the police couldn't produce the seized weapons, and since the police aren't issued 7.62x39 rounds, they couldn't have loaded that AK.
So where are the lies? Point them out.
As for your crucifixion claims, let's put it simply - there will be no conviction on the weapons charges unless the police can produce an AK-47 and a loaded magazine.for same. Anyone driving around my neighborhood with a loaded AK ready at hand in their car needs to face serious consequences, if not for malice, then for epic stupidity.

I am not spouting innuendos,
Yes, unless you offer something in support of your assertions, that's all they are, innuendos.
All I was trying to get at is that none of you know all the details and to pre judging them is wrong...
No one is pre-judging them - we are DISCUSSING a news item based on the information available.
. And yes I know the details but it is not up to me to go and post it on the Internet where everyone and there brother can read it.
Well then, if all you are willing to offer are salacious claims of innacuracy, then your input is of no value. You refuse to bring value to the discussion with this supposed information of yours. If you're not willing to lay your cards on the table, then you have no meaningful role in the game. If the government and the press are deceiving us and you know the truth, then by your refusal to share that truth, you're just as complicit in the deception as they are.
Yes I was pulled over for speeding when I was NOT
So YOU say.
and yes if you must know I did try and fight it but the judge DID NOT believe a pee-on like me why would he when his police are never wrong,
I've had several speeding tickets dismissed, by PRESENTING EVIDENCE, an action for which you've exhibited distaste. Your naked assertion that you were not speeding was not evidence. It now seems you have a pattern of claiming the police are lying without offering any evidence to support your claims.

true or false:Did anyone of us get to read the police report? I did not and I doubt anyone else did... Did anyone talk with the kids?
No, did you? All the information we have is what's in the article, but if you want to start calling the paper or the police liars, you need to have more than your tinfoil hat paranoia to back that up. We're supposed to assume it's all a lie, part of some grand conspiracy, just because some anonymous voice (that would be you) on the internet spouts innuendo? If you can't support what you say, why should we accept it over the paper and the police? Since the prosecutor hasn't declined to charge the suspects, it follows that the police have satisfied him that they can back up their claims.
There is NO way any of us know beyond a shadow of doubt that everything written is totally true, so why are we crusading these kids?
Do you mean crucifying? I see no hammer or nails here. We're DISCUSSING the issue, within the context of the information available to us. Implicit in that context is the concept that every assertion posted has an unwritten prefix of "IF the story here is accurate THEN..."
Along those lines, if even a small part of the information in the article is accurate, then some severe consequences are appropriate. Any one component of the conduct alleged is unacceptable, and beyond mitigation by any "Dear Officer Krupke" style appeals to societal blame.
As more information becomes available, that will further shape the discussion. You seem to want to stifle discussion because none of us are omniscient.
What I'm getting from everyone's comments, is that every media or police tells nothing but truth! How many of us have been pulled over and have no clue why until the officer tells us we were speeding? when in reality were not speeding or going the speed the police officer said? I know I have.
What is your basis for such a claim? You'll find no stronger advocate of limiting government power than me, and I acknowledge an awful lot of police abuse, but that's quite a stretch. 99% of people stopped for speeding are actually speeding - if you drive the speed limit, everyone will be passing you.
So, either you have something to corraborate your vague suspicions, or you don't. What's it gonna be?

Do you ever think that just maybe everything you read is not accurate, and totally true? Just maybe we are casting judgment on the kids when we don't know all the facts as being stated true as it is reported.
Ye who are without sin let them cast the first stone.
Let us not assume that the police reports are always truthful and accurate.
