Erie County auditor's race delayed again
Jan 26
2011
Because of scheduling conflicts, Judge Richard Markus suspended an evidentiary hearing until Feb. 10 involving Tom Paul, the Democratic incumbent auditor, and Rick Jeffrey, his challenger.
About 40 people are still expected to provide testimony about their voting experiences on Election Day.
The list includes about five provisional voters, nearly 28 poll workers, four Erie County Board of Election members, as well as elections board director Deborah McDowell and deputy director Jen Ferback.
Jeffrey won November's election by seven votes, but Paul is challenging the outcome. Paul says 40 discarded ballots should have been counted.

Julie, you are correct. This is definitely an attempt to avoid Mr. Jeffrey exposing all of the corruption. And Mr. Paul should be personally assessed the cost of this fiasco. Wake up people, these leaches are showing themselves for what they are. Public employees who aren't fit to hold a private sector job. So, they try to protect one another in their public jobs. The public spoke and Mr. Paul needs to say bye, bye. Go get another job and quit squandering our tax money.

Why are we wasting money on this rent-a-judge? Use some common sense. If a secured impartial equally represented jury was impaneled to review the count of all these ballots and the result was less than a 7 vote shift in results, GAME OVER! Assuming 40 ballots, a minimum of 24 to 16 with all 40 voting for auditor is required to change results. According to reporting in SR the number has been reduced to 30 which would require a minimum 19 to 11 vote to overturn results. With a difference of 7 votes in 28,133 votes that were validly cast, the mathematical probability of this happening is VERY UNLIKELY! NOW IS TIME FOR A COMPLETE AUDIT OF ERIE COUNTY!

I personally think that every vote should be counted. I don't think Tom Paul is being rediculous when the vote came down to 7 votes. I am sure it would be the same if the results were reversed. For the people who actually make the effort to take time out of their day to go somewhere and vote...it should be counted. And I think that should be in every race and for every party whether it be democrat or republican.

Are we afraid of what Mr. Jeffrey just might uncover in the auditor's office or what?

I guess I feel sorry for the 40 people subpoened that have to say "Yes, your honor, I can't follow the instructions, vote in the correct precinct, etc., etc."
Glad it wasn't me, oh yeah, I voted correctly and my vote was counted.

Oh, for heaven's sake. The election results were certified. You lost, Mr. Paul. Get over it and for pity's sake move on.
As an aside, I hope Paul is assessed for every nickel of the costs involved with this nonsense...
