Woman injured in turnpike crash

A 46-year-old Michigan woman suffered injuries Wednesday afternoon after she failed to slow for stopped traffic on the Ohio Turnpike.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers, Lisa Fellars, of Camden, Mich., was driving east near on the Ohio Turnpike when she failed to slow for traffic stopped because of a lane closure shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Fellars swerved, lost control and hit a guard rail while attempting to stop abruptly near mile marker 117. Her gray Ford Escape flipped over and rolled down a 10-foot embankment. She suffered a cut to her face and possibly a broken ankle.

EMS workers transported her to Fisher Titus Medical Center.
