A new one-year contract freezes base salaries for the second year and switches teachers over to a less-expensive insurance plan.
The school district faces financial obstacles that might not be overcome at the ballot box, where the district has been consistently shot down by voters.
What would it take for you to vote for a levy to support Margaretta Schools? Is going to the voters a futile effort?

I won't vote for a levy that will raise my property taxes permanantly. With the economy in shambles, we voters don't need an extra burden that will never go away. How is it that some school districts can build new school facilities, but Margaretta can't afford to operate from year to year? How can the district be so broke? Is this due to mismanagement of funding? What's behind the reasoning for this "conversion" levy?
