Hi there, I posted a picture on your Facebook page of an old Sandusky Register sign that I found in a thrift shop. Has anybody had a chance to take a look? Is there an official or unofficial newspaper historian on staff that maybe could help me with any information about it. It appears really old... 20s or 30s? Thanks for any help you could offer. — Carol

I was wondering if there are rules for the trash removal locally? Over the years the service has declined a lot. I see cans laying all over the city on any given weekday. In the past two years I have purchased 4 cans. The last 3 were destoyed or lids were lost. Not sure why it is so hard to set a can upright and put the lid on. Thanks — Sarah in Sandusky

Dear Mailbag, My question is about the large Shores & Islands signs on the Ohio 2 exits. What a waste of taxpayer dollars. It is also my understanding that Erie County and Ottawa County are in some kind of agreement to share resources. Why do we need two bureaus? Erie County seems to be highlighted more prevalently in the visitor's guide. — Cindy from Port Clinton

It seems Norwalk City Schools are always asking for increase in taxes to help pay for school needs. Does the school collect Box Tops? It seems that if the whole city knew that they could drop off Box Tops to a school, at 10 cents a piece that would add up. I know I have at least $5 worth of them in my pantry now. — Robin in Norwalk

Do the commissioners for Sandusky City get paid? Isn’t this considered income and employment? I have seen one of the commissioners several times and am extremely disappointed on how she (is) representing the City. She looks disheveled and very unprofessional. I was just curious as my job expects me to represent them on my off time as well. — Michelle from Sandusky
