Why is there no merging traffic sign on U.S. 250 just past the traffic light at Kalahari headed north into town and a merge sign on the access road out of Kalahari headed into Sandusky? There is a need for a merging traffic sign heading north into Sandusky on U.S. 250 for the traffic using the merge lane out of Kalahari. Even if your turn signal is on, not many drivers will move to the left to allow access to the road. There's also a need for a merge sign on that access road because most tourists and locals don't know there is that merge lane and they stop even though there is no stop sign. With a new service station going in across from Kalahari, it's just an accident waiting to happen. Beth Ann in Sandusky

In regards to a past article regarding Sandusky Schools broadening its search for a treasurer, it indicates that only three of the six local applicants have a school treasurer's license. Were those three interviewed? Does the school board have to have a minimum number of applicants before starting the interview process? It seems that lately more often than not companies are bypassing qualified local applicants and hiring employees from the Cleveland, Columbus or Toledo areas. Why is that? Cyn via email

It wasn't that long ago that the difference between regular and premium gas was 20 cents. Now at many places it is over 40 cents. Are there any county, state or federal agencies that regularly check gas stations to insure the public is actually receiving premium fuel instead of regular to see if there is indeed a difference in the octane as advertised?
