What's the purpose of blue road reflectors?

When traveling between Castalia and the Ohio 2 bypass, I noticed blue reflectors down the centerline. They are not as frequent as the yellow ones. Can you tell me the significance of these? Fred in Bellevue.

State transportation department spokeswoman Christine Myers provided the following response:

Normally a blue reflector is placed to designate a fire hydrant to make it easy for the fire department to find at night.
