Where did Sandusky's huge steel tower go?

What happened to the huge steel communications tower constructed several years ago on the corner of Shelby and Market streets? Paul on Sunset Drive

Sandusky ex officio mayor Dennis Murray Jr. provided the following response:

I think it is because the carrier Nextel no longer needed/wanted the tower, which was on city property. They had a contractual obligation to tear it down when they no longer needed it and wished to terminate the lease.
