Does the Register have an app?

I have a new smartphone but can't find the Sandusky Register news app for breaking news, sports and school closings. Can you help me? Anthony in Perkins Township

Register multimedia and digital content editor Jason Werling provided the following answer:

The Sandusky Register does not currently have an alert system for school closings. We are working on getting one set up through our 41948 texting program and will notify readers as soon as it is available.

Breaking news and weather alerts appear at the top of sanduskyregister.com's news stream on both mobile and desktop platforms when they happen.

Sports scores are always available at fandy.com. And you can have them texted to your phone by texting the word SCORE to 41948

For news alerts sent directly to your phone text NEWSFLASH to 41948.

We will be sure to let our readers know when our closings alert system is in place.

The Mailbag is a daily feature on sanduskyregister.com. Each weekday at noon, we will post one question from a reader and answer it. To ask a question, send a letter to The Mailbag at 314 W. Market St., or email mailbag@sanduskyregister.com. Please include your first name and a location in the email, e.g. “John from Decatur Street."
