What's going on with Cedar Brook Lane's water tower?

A $238,000 project to paint and clean the water tower on Cedar Brook Lane should start soon, said Jack Meyers, Erie County's environmental services director.

"The need is for health, safety and aesthetics," Meyers said. "it has not been painted for 20 years, and that is the service life of new tank paint. If you go by it, you will see peeling paint and rust."

In the bids, the contractor can choose to either start on July 29, 2013 or April 1, 2014. The project should take 120 days to complete.
