When will the Erie MetroParks disc golf course open?

I was wondering if the disc golf course that Erie MetroParks just built will be up and running for public use this summer. Is it? Jake on Gateway Boulevard

The course, where people fling Frisbees or other types of flying discs, is unofficially open, Erie MetroParks commissioner Kut Landefeld said.

The tees, fairways and holes — which resemble chain-link baskets — are in place at Osborn MetroPark by the Erie County Care Facility off East Perkins Avenue.

Erie MetroParks officials are still waiting on Barnes Nursery to landscape the first hole. Workers are also coordinating with others to place signs up and print scorecards.

"We anticipate this to be a popular addition to the list of activities we offer," Landefeld said. "(We're) planning on an official opening later in the month."
