**Updated** Will the small appliance disposal and recycling event return?

I saw this in the paper and wanted to let you know that The Volunteer Center of Erie County is currently holding an Electronics Recycling Drive. We can accept anything with an electric cord or circuit board except televisions, computer monitors and large appliances. Our collection is ongoing, ending with a public drop-off event on June 22nd.

A couple weeks ago, the Mailbag answered a question in response to Erie County officials not scheduling a small appliance disposal and recycling event for 2013.

But Amy Porter, executive director at the Volunteer Center of Erie County, contacted the Mailbag and relayed the following information:

The organization "is currently holding an electronics recycling drive. We can accept anything with an electric cord or circuit board except for TVs, computer monitors and large appliances. Our collection is ongoing, ending with a public drop-off event scheduled for June 22.

The Volunteer Center, an organization creating solutions to address the community's needs through philanthropy, is located at 300 Central Ave. in Sandusky. Contact the center by calling 419-627-0074 or emailing Porter at aporter@thevolunteercenter.com.

The Mailbag is a daily feature on SanduskyRegister.com. Every weekday at noon, we will post one question-and-answer from a resident. To ask a question, send a letter to The Mailbag at 314 W. Market St., or e-mail mailbag@sanduskyregister.com. Please include your first name and a location in the e-mail, e.g. “John from Decatur Street."

God Of Thunder

So what does this mean, only old electric razors and kitchen mixers??

rjoh

I would take this to mean old vcr's,cd players cell phones, dvd players, and the like will be accepted. Where I live they took 2 old CO monitors that expired. They do not want computer monitors or tv's with a CRT because of the lead they contain. Anything with a circuit board can go. You can get rid of the remote to the old TV but not the TV.
