Will there be any changes to the dog park this year?
Patrons of the Erie MetroBark Park shouldn't notice any major changes in 2013.
Beki Catri, the district's marketing and volunteer coordinator, provided the following response.
"There are no major changes to the bark park for 2013 that I am aware of. The only plans we have is a memorial brick walkway to be installed at the entrance of the park. This will be installed as memorial bricks are purchases. Any expansion plans have been put on hold."
MetroParks commissioners, in early 2012, contemplated expanding the off-leash bark park but decided the the 3-acre property was big enough for now.
How to sign your dog up for the bark park:
Anybody can register their dog at the park. Proof of current vaccinations and dog license are required.
Registrations are available online at eriemetroparks.org or can be filled out at the Frost Center, located within Osborn MetroPark at 3910 E. Perkins Ave. Questions can be answered by calling 419-625-7783 ext. 221.
The registration fees help to fund improvements and keep the dog park safe and clean. The registration fee is $20 for Erie County residents and $25 for everyone else.
