Are they building sidewalks near Briar Middle School?
I noticed a dirt path off of Strub Road leading to the new Perkins Stadium. Are they going to pave the dirt path and also if they are planning to pave a pathway in the Windamere development leading to the opening on Strub Road?
Brittney from Perkins.
Yes. Windamere Lane is among several streets set for significant safety upgrades.
The state's transportation department awarded Perkins with $492,000 to build or create sidewalks near Briar Middle School. It's part of an initiative to make or enhance pathways children would take to and from school safer.
The sidewalks should be completed sometime before 2014 ends.
Other traffic plans call for installing traffic signals and roadway crossings in some areas by the school.

Nope! Perkins is broke!
Lose the hate!You insult yourself.
Take your blinders off, you insult yourself!
If you read the article you would see this is paid for by gran money. Your statement is off base. you are a sad person.
Doesn't say a thing about grant money. Maybe you need to use some of that money for reading lessons!
No, you should.
"The state's transportation department awarded Perkins with $492,000 to build or create sidewalks near Briar Middle School."
Kelly is right! "The state's transportation department awarded Perkins with $492,000 to build or create sidewalks near Briar Middle School." That is
grant money from the State of Ohio. Why is that so hard to understand?

If you can't read, don't comment on the story. It makes you look like you needed more help in school then you received.
So the State Transportation award is school money? Would that not be considered a grant of sort?
Not necessarily!
I'm just glad we have good people who do good for the community. Hate is a ugly thing.
Vote NO on both school levies!
Wasted taxpayer money is what it is grant or not. Parents in Perkins will still drive their kids to and from school regardless. That's how it's done in this day and age. Walking to and from school in a suburban environment will never happen.
Where did you come up with that? Kids are already walking to and from school everyday.
Visit any one of the schools before or after kids are let out then come back here and let us all know what you observed.
Got to agree TMM. But I do think its a goodthing for the sidewalks. Windamere is not all that close to the school, so not sure how safty comes into play, will still have to cross Strub rd.
