What's going in next to Olive Garden?
What is being built next to Olive Garden? — Crystal from Norwalk
We already answered this question in September, but that was awhile ago so we'll give it another go. The construction you're seeing next to Olive Garden is a new LongHorn Steakhouse. The building should be about as big as the Ryan's adjacent to the property. We don't have a projected opening date but keep an eye out for updates as construction progresses.

Overpriced steak dinners. I have been to one in Maumee and I was not impressed.
Well that settles it! You heard the lady. Tear it down boys!
Vacationers will go to it. For them I sure it will be less than say eating a steak dinner at the Kalahari. The rest of we local folks can go next door to Ryan's after what 4 PM and have steak as part of the buffet.
I have been to a Long Horn in Virginia and it was good. Don't think any higher than other places. Would seem in the price range of Outback. Restaurant prices have gone up universally it seems in the past few months but then take a stroll down the aisles at Meijer, Kroger, Walmart, etc and I see so many increases in cost of food. Amazed at the increases in things like eggs, bacon, meats in general, bread products etc.
That is what a drought will do to food prices.
Most corn doesn't go into animal feed like 20 years ago... it goes into your fuel tank. It also costs more than crude oil, to bring into the final product.

For the people out there to see what you are speaking about
okay they wiped my post
EXACTLY GRUMPY... Biofuels are a drag on our economy, and food sources... but then, do u really think folks in the Erie Area care? Sadly they don't, and, moreso, they suffer from undereducation on the bigger picture.. thanks to the leaders(lol) in the area.... they "the leaders" want to keep locals in an area of "dah" and they are doing well... until one day, the light turns on, ppl start the think WHY AM I SO POOR AND WHY ARE THOSE FOLKS KILLING ME?
BTW..............
You can thank ONE PERSON IN ERIE COUNTY, AND THE DISTRICT....
NOT Marcy (eventhough) she is a pawn... Not Muarry(?)
AMY GRUBBE AND HER FRIENDS IN THE STATE DEM PARTY.. AMY IS NOW(SR DIDNT FULLY REPORT) TREASURER OF STATE DEM FUNDS....
SO YOU KNOW, THIS Lady(loosely) Rich Grubbes Wife, he's an atty (BTW LOL) is more powerful than anyone else in the state... DEM side!(btw sue me Dick)
I btw HAVE FACTS, AND AM MORE THAN WILLING TO BACK UP ALL STATED above.
Can't wait until the "pieces" start to fall, because they will, just like mob boys, they all tell on eachother at one point.
Apparently you didn't look at the link...Grumpy is wrong
Obumbles has no problem with the cost. He wants the biofuels and will stop at nothing to keeps this crap going. The father of electric vehicles has now stated that there is no long term good for them. They can't and won't replace the gasoline engine. Father prius said it all.
hey bored...remember when Obama said in 2008 that $5.00 for a gallon of gas isn't a bad thing....as long as its a slow and steady increase. We are on our way...
I got a little sugar in my gas tank if you know what I mean!
+1
I love Longhorn Steakhouse and the one I go to most often is in Maumee. It's a whole lot better than Outback here in Sandusky.
What a great idea putting up a steak house next to Ryans, Roadhouse and Outback. Gee, maybe only one of them will be forced to close.
We have a Roadhouse?
Yep! It's behind Sonic.
No we have a roach house
lol
Maybe it might be Ryans every tiime we have gone there we have to go through 5 or 6 plates before we get a clean one. We stopped going to Ryans because of this.
Why don't any of these places ever open in Sandumpy??
Because Sandumpy would make them pay property taxes and help fund the schools instead of depending on raising the homeowners taxes.
location, Location, Location
Cmon folks wake up it is on the way to Cedar Point! Duh!!!
@Jerkins2060 - Shut your piehole about Sandusky. Enjoy the tax increase coming your way.
@Trainwreck - I would gladly pay 20 x's my taxes in Jerkins than living for free in Sandumpy.
Longhorn has always been my favorite steakhouse. Been to Maumee a few times, always good. Also hit the one in Perrysburg, and most often go to the one in Westlake. I prefer over Outback, always did. And the prices are very reasonable.
I have been to Outback and Roadhouse and not impressed. Maybe Longhorn will change my mind.
