Can you tell me about the student-run restaurant at Vangard?

The student restaurant at Vangard Tech Center, 1306 Cedar St., Fremont, actually opens this week. The hours are 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It is open to the public, and the prices are very affordable. I talked to the culinary arts instructor, Russ Markwith, and he said guests should be aware the restaurant is closed next week because of the holiday, but will reopen the following week. If you want to be sure the restaurant is open the day you choose to go, you can call 419-334-5690.

$3.95 Caesar Salad- romaine tossed with croutons and homemade Caesar dressing. Add Grilled Chicken for $2.00

$5.95 Grilled Chicken Salad-hand torn greens topped with red onion, pears, walnuts, craisins, shredded cheese, and croutons. Choice of dressing.

Dressings; Homemade Ranch, French, Honey Mustard, Fat Free Italian.

Served with Chips and Pickles. Substitute a side for $1.00

$4.50 Hamburger- Local fresh ground chuck. Served with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Add cheese for $.50

$4.95 Turkey Panini- Filled with cheddar, carmelized onion, roasted peppers, and tomato concasse. Ranch or Honey Mustard for dipping.

$4.95 Italian Chicken Dip- Hand breaded chicken breast fried golden brown and topped with carmelized onion, roasted peppers, and provolone. Served with a marinara sauce for dipping.

$4.50 Fettuccine Alfredo. Served with 1 side, add Chicken $2.00

$5.95 Grilled Pork Chop topped with herb compound butter. Served with 2 sides.
