Lake Erie fish beware: Gulf oil spill is sending fishermen here

Tourism officials say they’ve noticed a trend — people deciding to fish here rather than in the Gulf.

The Gulf oil spill is creating opportunities for local charter boat captains and others as tourists seeking to deep sea fish in the Gulf are rerouting trips to Lake Erie. Apparently, fried walleye sounds more appealing than oil-encrusted flounder.
