While a parade is a good thing to enjoy, I feel sorry for the two drivers involved in a car crash at Center and Route 6. The city police failed to control the traffic and both drivers apparently thought they had the right of way. I saw it as it happened and I have yet to understand why the officers did not have BARRICADES in place.
There was mass confusion trying to navigate that corner the entire time the parade was turning onto J-C Boulevard after large gaps in the parade line.
Huron Police dropped the ball on this one and I suggest in the future that they use good old-fashioned whistles and WHITE gloves, close the streets and keep them closed until the parade is over and stop making that stupid turn on Shirley Street.
Either use Center all the way or Williams all the way, especially since they are going to take down that traffic light in due time and possibly move it to River Road and Cleveland Road East. It's an accident waiting to happen again!
