There are days when I bet the men who are firemen and police officers wonder why they ever decided to do the jobs they are doing.

It cannot be any easy task for them to go to a fire where people have died. We just celebrated Thanksgiving and it will soon be Christmas. These men must have been thinking of their own families when they stood in the rubble of this home and had to take on the task they did at this fire.

It isn't easy to care for the dead, even at the best of moments, but these men are heros. They do what the rest of us cannot or will not do. They take care of us in the worst moments of our lives. That is the definition of a hero, to do what others cannot or will not do.

The men of these fire companies and the police that were there, did what others cannot and will not do. They took care of the people who died in this fire.

God Bless you for being there for them, for taking care of them for those of us who could not. For being there when we couldn't and for doing what we cannot. You are the textbook definiton of heros.

God bless you, each and everyone. It had to be the hardest thing you have done perhaps in your entire lives. But we appreciate it. If no one has said it, or told you so. Thank you. Thank you very much.
